internet down: Akamai suffers outage, takes half of global internet down

If you have or are having difficulty loading certain websites, note that there has been an interruption in service. Content delivery platform Akamai faced an outage for a limited time (starting at arpund 8:55 p.m.) bringing down several key websites and apps in India as well as Canada, Australia, UK, New Zealand and other. As Akamai is a global company content delivery network, major websites also suffered an outage. The company under its official nickname tweeted, “Akamai is experiencing a downtime. We are actively investigating the issue and will provide an update in 30 minutes. ”
Fortunately, the outage didn’t last long and most websites and apps are slowly coming back online. Most websites rely on cloud service providers and content delivery networks (CDNs) to run their content. An outage like this occurs when a particular service provider faces a technical issue. With Akamai facing an outage, all of its customers will automatically experience website loading issues because it is a popular global service provider.

Akamai announced that it fixed the issue and that the services should be back online. “We have implemented a fix for this issue, and based on current observations, the service is resuming normal operations. We will continue to monitor to make sure the impact has been fully mitigated, ”he tweeted.
Last month, the US cloud service provider called Fastly reported a downtime that resulted in a major service outage among popular platforms such as Amazon, Reddit, Twitch, Financial Times, New York Times, Bloomberg News and other.
